The DEC Welcomes Biologist Christina Hoh to the Staff at the Northern Montezuma Field Office
Christina Hoh received a B.S. in Biology from Rochester Institute of Technology and a M.S. in Environmental Science and Biology from SUNY Brockport, where she focused on wetland ecology and migratory bird physiology. She worked at the NYSDEC as a Wildlife Technician in the Avon Regional Office for several years, where she primarily organized winter raptor and breeding grassland bird surveys. She became a Bureau of Ecosystem Health Biologist in 2019, where she reviewed Lake Ontario and Finger Lakes shoreline projects, stream restorations, wetland projects and restoration initiatives. She is wrapping up a semester as an adjunct instructor at SUNY Brockport, and is a member and occasional field trip leader with the Rochester Birding Association.
Christina will represent DEC Region 8 on the State’s Migratory Gamebird Team, and will help carry out the agency goals of providing high-quality wildlife habitat, compatible access, and delivering restoration initiatives at several Region 8 Wildlife Management Areas.

Welcome Taylor to the Refuge!
Taylor Hackemack hails from Houston, Texas and graduated with a degree in Wildlife Science from Mississippi State University. Her work for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has taken her across the country from translocating Red-cockaded woodpeckers in South Carolina to re-introducing Black-footed ferrets in Wyoming, with a few stops in between including refuges in Mississippi and Texas. She has been a member of The Wildlife Society since 2014, and loves being able to connect to and engage with others in the field of conservation. Outside of the Service, she enjoys being a Taco Tuesday enthusiast, is a cat mom to an angel cat and a psycho kitten, and likes to buy books even though she has a full bookshelf waiting to be read.
