We surveyed Tschache and May’s Point Pools yesterday. Unfortunately, those units have limited visibility for visitors. However, from Tschache tower there are some areas that are opening up with better visibility. It is also fun to search the trees for bald eagles, especially along the Clyde River (north of the tower). The water is deep in both units but we didn’t see any diver ducks yet in either location. I am including a picture of an immature bald eagle and a belted kingfisher from Tschache Pool. If you are hoping to see a kingfisher, hike out along the Seneca Trail. I heard one from the office parking lot as I was getting in my car yesterday afternoon. There was at least one still hanging out by the Seneca-Cayuga Canal.
I believe today is the last day to sign up for the Walk for the Wild. An email yesterday showed that Montezuma had moved up to fifth place! Woohoo, let’s keep it going!!
ENJOY, be respectful and safe.

Your reports are wonderful but you mention locations, trails, sites and I have no idea where these places might be. Is there a map available for members?
Bob, I see your question and will get an updated map out to the Friends ASAP. It might take me a couple of days. It would be very helpful, if you would post another comment with the locations you are looking for so I don’t overlook them.
Thanks!!
