B-r-r-r-r-r!! There was a lot of ice covering the units on Tuesday. So much so that in 4 of the 7 units surveyed, we detected no birds at all! The good news is that there were thousands of ducks in the Main Pool.  Some could be seen from the Seneca Trail tower and others from the Wildlife Drive.  However, the huge draw was the return of the snowy owl in one of the areas east of the eagle sculpture. It was first seen last Friday.  Now for the bad news, on Wednesday, December 1, the Wildlife Drive closes until April 1, 2022. The Visitors’ Center will also close on December 1. But, remember that you can access Tschache Pool tower, East Road overlook, May’s Point observation deck, the Visitors’ Center deck and Van Dyne Spoor Road as long as weather conditions allow.

ENJOY, be respectful and safe.
